TALLINn - ESTONIA

Tallinn was originally mentioned in the history books around 1219 and has become one of the best preserved medieval cities in the world, with UNESCO World Heritage status. It is also one of the largest ports on the Baltic, acknowledged as a major trade hub as well as one of the top global digital cities. The chequered history of Tallinn provides lots of interest for the inquisitive traveller. The City, easily seen on foot, is comprised of two closely inter connected parts.......Toompea Hill and Lower town. Toompea Hill with the Castle , Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Embassies is imposing, particularly under the flood lit night sky. Many nooks and crannies offer places of respite to gaze upon the amazing vistas of the colourful town below. Take time to wander down the old cobbled streets-to further explore. The characterful streets meander past the medieval City Walls...the top of which can be walked...., it’s Towers, Town Hall Square and Churches. A myriad of old buildings and lovely squares contain small shops and museums, cafes and restaurants to wile away so many hours.
