santorini - greece

Santorini, crescent shaped and one of the most photographed Greek Islands...mountains, sparkling white buildings, endless blue sea and sunshine, everyone’s dream. Built on an active volcano, the white washed cliff top towns, cling to the underwater crater and stand high above the clear deep blue ocean. The beach sands vary so much in colour ....all proudly display their lava pebbles in white, red and black hues.

Taster Tours

Visit Oia at sunset to fully benefit from the dramatic views and the magic of the blue domed chapels which surround you. Travel to the cliff top towns of Firá, Oia and more ..... with their vibrant colourful buildings, museums, shops and galleries, brimming full of ceramics, jewellery, leather sandals and much much more. The island has a range of archaeological ruins and museums, which you can self visit or join a formal tour. The prehistoric settlement of Akrotíri is one of the major places to visit. Water sports abound, why not learn something new...kayaking, scuba diving, para gliding, water skiing, hire a boat or join one of the small boat cruises

If you prefer, try something less energetic, there are some really good local cooking classes. Day cruises will take you to different islands, each with a character of its own.....take time to choose. To travel back in time visit Thirasia and get a glimpse of Santorini as it once was. The vineyards of the island can be visited individually or form part of a tour which can be organised by yourself or a local guide. Try the Koutsoyannopoulos winery which has an underground museum, eight metres below ground. The history of wine growing on Santorini from 1660 to 1970 is described and then of course it’s time to taste those excellent wines.

Time to Linger

Tavernas and cafes are filled with Mediterranean cuisine....why not try the local goats cheese and an absolute must, the wines of the different local vineyards. Nightlife thrives in the late opening bars and discos, for a quieter option try the open air cinema.
