Sydney in the sun, sparkling waters and bobbing boats as far as the eye can see, just bliss. Stroll from the hotel to the Rocks and its historic neighbourhood, with the additional benefit of the weekend market and its displays of original artwork and jewellery.

Taster Tours

The Big Bus Tour takes you to 33 City destinations or for a cheaper DIY version, buy an opal card for the public transport system. Bondi Beach, it’s awesome surf and surfers, can be reached by bus 380 or 333, it is also accessible by train. There is a lovely walk along the cliffs to Bronte. An added treat is the Bondi Sunday Market of vintage and local designers. The City Circle railway is a good way to visit Chinatown, the Maritime Museum and Paddy’s Market. The stations themselves are characterful....the Museum is frozen in history, St James has historic photographs and original features, whilst Circular Quay has scenic views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

The light railway provides a birds eye view of the city and its streets, to help plan your visitor campaign and then transport you to those desired venues. Feeling adventurous take the Blue Mountain train to the Blue Mountain range followed by the Scenic railway....the steepest passenger railway in the world. On arrival choose a bush walk or the Scenic walking trail to the most awesome views. The light upon the trees of the eucalyptus forests, helps produce that famous blue haze. Circular Quay offers a myriad of ferry boat options to the far flung corners of the harbour. Manley offers a great surfers beach, an ocean front walk with eateries and sweeping views. A two hour drive or an organised Tour, will take you to Hunter Valley and it’s magnificent spread of 120 excellent Wineries, great Restaurants and much much more.... deciding which to visit is the most difficult part.

Time to Linger

Sydney Opera House with its sail like design, provides great tours of its artistic facilities, a substantial artistic programme and great harbour views whilst you sip that coffee. Continue onwards to wander through the Botanical Gardens or turn back to Circular Key with the local ferry boats, cruise ships and the renowned Harbour Bridge. The area hums with people just gazing and of course diners, who have succumbed to the various seafood restaurants and their mouth watering displays.

The Art Gallery New South Wales with its Australian Masters and Aboriginal Art, provides a good cultural overview or if you prefer, The Museum of Contemporary Art. The intersection will provide all you need for modern day retail therapy if and when you are ‘ cultured out’

Walsh Bay and the Heritage listed Wharves, provide a home to an array of entertainment from which to choose....maybe the Sydney Theatre Company with its terrace and city views. Then time to say goodnight and rest those weary legs, before the delights of tomorrow’s adventures beckon.
