The drive to Te Koha based at Te Ngaere Bay takes approx 30 mins from Keri Keri. Based half way along the coastal route of  Wanui Road, which winds through unspoilt countryside, with spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches. Drive past Kauri Cliffs luxury resort, a world renowned golf course, luxurious spa and restaurant.....available to non residents with pre-booking. Suddenly appears Matauri Bay, the resting place of the Rainbow Warrior, with its fabulous beach, worth a road side stop to stare in wonder.

At the bottom of the hill lies Te Ngaere Bay, one of the most picturesque small bays, sheltered, safe, great to snorkel, swim and fish. Above lies your hotel just waiting to provide a really warm welcome, with its birds eye view of these breathtaking vistas .

The meandering 20 Km drive from Te Ngaere to Whangeroa Harbour, is full of beaches fringed with spreading Phutukawa trees, countless sandy coves, rocky headlands, small islands, and stop off points for leisurely or more strenuous walks. Whangeroa harbour is a peaceful place for game fishing boats....visit the club to understand the full history. Seasonal competitions fill the decks with friendly banter and fish, a must to see. Taste the freshly caught produce in one of the cafes, amongst the locals prior, to the short shoreline drive to Kaeo.

Kaeo was originally a fortified village of the Ngati Uru sub tribe, which was followed by the Wesleydale influence c1770. Historical information and photographs are available in the centre of the town. Mixed fortunes give it a colourful casual ambience.

Great to peruse. Spice Grill: Family owned, freshly prepared, well flavoured food, pleasant service. Drive on to Keri Keri, after a few kilometres, Gabrielle’s massage studio. A wonderful oasis of calm, enhanced by the skilful and professional touch applied to all treatments. Booking is essential.
